  • Beschrijving: Michalis, a rich Athenian, is in Cyprus, where he meets and falls in love with a folk singer, Christina. She responds to his feelings, but, at the same time, she realizes that they belong to different worlds, and so she draws away from him. After some time, Christina comes to Athens and appears at a night club. Michalis finds her there and persuades her to marry him, despite his mother’s forceful objections. The elderly woman does everything in her power to force them apart, even after the birth of their daughter. In the end, she manages to separate them, but only temporarily, since the two young people get back together, and this time for good.
